BURTON'S LEGLESS LIZARD
|
| | Lialis burtonis
| The largest of the pygopodidae (legless lizards), Burton's Legless Lizard is also amongst the most widespread of Australian reptiles, occurring in almost all parts of Australia. Although it can unhinge it's jaw like a snake, the external ear holes and flat (non-forked) tongue indicate it's lizard heritage.
